At the end of this course, the students; 1) Topics such as modernization, postmodernism, actor-society-structure relations, social change, power, post-structuralism, structure degradation which can be considered as contemporary theoretical approaches of sociology are discussed. 2) Sociological perspectives developed by contemporary theorists such as Mills, Tourain, Derrida, Adorno, Horkheimer, Foucault, Baudrillard and Baudelaire are discussed comparatively.
