At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn the concepts of data communication, networks, protocols and standards. 2) Express the communication requirements of computers/computer networks by using different network topologies and protocols 3) Explain basic knowledge of the data communication devices/equipment, their functions and usage 4) Define the running principles of widely used applications in Internet. 5) Describe OSI layered architecture for computer networks. Identify the functions of TCP/IP and the matching with OSI layers.
