At the end of this course, the students; 1) Grasp why economic development, or rather industrialization, appeared in the West in the world 2) Grasp why the Ottomans missed industrialization while Japan was catching up with the industrialization process 3) Examine the 19th century international free trade policies 4) Understand The Great World Economic Depression of 1929 5) Grasp the new international economic order led by the USA after World War II 6) Examine the formation of the global economy and the 2008 global financial crisis 7) Learn covid-19 era will learn about the world economy and future.

COURSE DEFINITION
In this course, while analyzing the world economy with a world-system approach, the world economy is handled in the axis of international trade, international capital flows and international labor movements. In addition to these, the aim of the course is to understand today's world economy as a whole, to be able to solve the problems faced by the world economy and to examine the economic policies that direct the world economy.
