COURSE DEFINITION | Labor Economics is the study of the workings and outcomes of the market for labor. In this course, we examine the suppliers of the labor market (workers) and the demanders of the labor market(employers) and attempt to understand the resulting patterns of wages, employment, and income. We examine how government policies affect labor force participation, employment and wages. We learn the estimation methods in labor economics such as difference in difference method, regression discontinuity design, and instrumental variable methods. |
