LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Define the determinants of economic growth. 2) Apply the mathematical methods used in macroeconomic analysis. 3) Interpret the economic intuition behind the mathematical equations. 4) Examine the data on economic growth. 5) Construct a theoretical model to explain why some countries grow faster than others. 6) Analyze the impact of monetary and fiscal policy using business cycle models.

COURSE DEFINITION | In the first part of the course, you will continue learning the basics of business cycle models. In the second part, We will analyze empirical observations of economic growth with economic theory and seek answers to the following questions: Why is per capita output growing faster in some countries than in others? Why do living standards differ so much between countries and regions? Why are some countries 50 times richer than others? Why do per capita growth rates differ over long periods? What are the limits to growth? |
