| COURSE DEFINITION | In this course, the scope and basic concepts of lexicography will be introduced; theoretical and practical lexicography, basic principles and methods of lexicography, studies on lexicography in Turkey and western literature, history of Turkish lexicography, types of dictionary and their features, the interaction between dictionary and its users etc. issues will be addressed. Also, the structure of dictionaries, dictionary-making processes and information categories in dictionaries will be discussed through monolingual and bilingual dictionary examples. |
