LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Summarize the development of children's literature in the world and in Turkey.
2) Distinguish the characteristics of children's books in different genres and for different age groups.
3) Know the features of children novel and stories.
4) Identify the problems of children's literature products.
5) Explain the importance of children's literature in education.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course deals with the history of literature for children in Turkey and all around the world, the characteristics of children's books in terms of their subjects, types and the ages they to appeal fairy tales, legends, stories and novels for children will be examined.
