1) Explain Persian phonetic and morphological features in basic level.
2) Know Iranian culture and civilization.
3) Read basic Persian texts.

COURSE DEFINITIONPersian is the official language of Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. In the historical context Persian was lingua franca especially among the Muslim elites from the Balkans to East Turkestan and India. Persian is one of the key languages of Turkology studies, along with Arabic. This course, in terms of content, focuses on Basic User A-1 Beginner level objectives within the scope of Common Framework Program for Teaching European Languages.
