LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) explain the key terms and concepts in the field of Women's and Gender Studies,

2) interpret the representation of gender in the works of fiction and non-fiction,
3) recognize the intersectionality of gender with other social categories of class, race, ethnicity, and sexuality,
4) discuss gender-related themes in both written and oral format.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course offers an introduction to Women's and Gender Studies with the goal of familiarizing students with key issues, questions, and debates in feminist school of thought. It encourages them to learn how to analyze and think critically about the meaning and importance of gender in American society.
