Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Graduates of the Department of American Culture and Literature can be employed in a wide variety of sectors requiring competence in English and in cultural and literary matters. Our graduates are widely employed in embassies, cultural institutes, foreign relations offices of companies involved in international business and in the media and tourism sector as advisors in language and culture or as translators. During their undergraduate education students may attend a program offered by the Faculties of Education of a variety of universities to receive a certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. In this way, they become entitled to teach English at institutions of primary, secondary and higher education in Turkey. Those graduates wishing to pursue an academic career can be employed as research assistants in a variety of universities as they continue their studies to obtain higher degrees.
