LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) compare textual rules of the target and source language and gain the skills to deal with textual and linguistic problems and formulate a translation of the texts they are studying
2) gain analytical and critical skills to understand and evaluate the texts in addition to their linguistic and individual research skills,
3) gain insight into culture, society, and world views etc. of the target language with the aim of helping them translate from the source language into target language.

COURSE DEFINITIONAs a follow up to ACL103 Basic Translation, this course aims to help students deal with problems they might have while translating different types of texts and improve their basic knowledge of translation studies. By appliyng different translation methods to different topics, texts and discourses and gaining necessary skills to evaluate published texts, the students improve their basic knowledge of translation studies.
