At the end of this course, the students; 1) gain the skills to translate from English to Turkish and from Turkish to English, 2) improve their linguistic knowledge of English and Turkish by comparing and contrasting their sentence stuctures 3) show their competency of using digital and hard copy dictionaries

COURSE DEFINITION | By introducing the concept of translation to the students, this course aims to raise their language awareness and help them translate from source language to target language by comparing and contrasting them and analyzing sentences from a contextual perspective. In order to help students critically evaluaate sentences with a lingusistic and contextual awareness, they are provided with basic terminolgy and cotemporary theories of translation studies. |
