1) employ advanced grammar and vocabulary skills in academic writing,
2) produce comparative, cause and effect, and argumentative essays,
3) evaluate the essays they read and use these in their own writing.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course aims to provide students with formal essay writing skills by developing their critical reading and writing skills with an emphasis on an advanced use of grammar and vocabulary. The students will acquire skills in planning and carrying out basic research tasks, critical thinking, and academic writing by learning types of essay structure and the methods to organize information within paragraphs.
