At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn the periodizations of the US-based standard and progressive historical narrative of public relations and the main discussions of the approaches that criticize ethnocentric public relations historiography. 2) Learn the history of public relations that emerged in different continents/countries at different dates, contexts and with different practices, and that public relations is shaped in specific ways according to each context. 3) Learn the neglected areas in the history of Turkish public relations, historical actors and pioneers of the field.
