General Information

Our department was established in 2013 within the Bağlıca Campus of Başkent University Faculty of Health Sciences and started to provide undergraduate education in the 2015-2016 academic year. In 2019, we were proud with our first graduates. Our mission is to provide our students with the highest quality knowledge, clinical practice and academic research environment in all fields of Audiology in parallel with scientific and technological development; in order to raise audiologists and academicians who have adopted the principles of Audiology Science, who are professionally and academically qualified, are able to think critically, are creative and open to development, and are preferred in national and international professional platforms.
The Audiology Undergraduate Program is a 4-year, full-time undergraduate education program that aims to train candidates with its expert and competent academic staff and laboratories equipped with the latest technology in the fields of audiology such as Clinical, Experimental, Industrial, and Rehabilitation audiology.
The courses are in Turkish. The students have to take practical courses and do internships in order to prepare reports, seminars, and research projects and oral presentations within the scope of their compulsory and elective courses. Practice courses are held in the Research and Application Laboratories of the Department of Audiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, Başkent University, equipped with the latest technology. Ear-nose-throat clinics of health institutions affiliated to our university and other universities and hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health, schools for the hearing impaired, special education centers, hearing aid and implant companies, factories and industrial establishments can be internship areas for our students. In addition, within the scope of the Erasmus+ International Student Mobility Program, The students can do summer internships at universities, institutions, and organizations in the European Union Countries with which we have an agreement.
At the end of the fourth year, the graduates who successfully gain the theoretical knowledge and application skills, that will form a strong infrastructure for the above-mentioned specializations of audiology, will receive the title of audiologist. The graduates can work in different fields such as the Ministry of Health, hospitals and clinics, schools for the hearing impaired, special education centers, universities, hearing aid and implant companies, factories and industrial establishments, research institutes and institutions. In addition, they can pursue on their academic studies within the scope of graduate education programs.
