LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Learn the qualities that a successful recreation leader should have
2) Understands the main roles and responsibilities of the recreation leader
3) Learns the basic leadership theories and different leadership typologies associated with recreation and sports.
4) Understands the relationship of leadership with processes such as teamwork, communication, motivation, emotional intelligence, decision making, problem solving, change and crisis management.
5) Monitors their own leadership development processes, develops their own leadership style and skills by discovering their strengths and weaknesses

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course examines the concept of leadership and leadership skills in the field of recreation. It gives information about recreational leadership through leadership theories and different leadership typologies. In this course, the relationship of leadership in recreation with processes such as teamwork, communication, motivation, emotional intelligence, decision making, problem solving, change and crisis management is discussed.
