Key Learning Outcomes

  • Adequate knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering related to medicine; the ability to apply theoretical and applied knowledge in these fields to modeling and solving complex engineering problems.
  • Ability to identify, define, formulate and solve advanced and complex mathematical, science and engineering problems by relating them to biology and physiology; ability to select and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods for this purpose.
  • Ability to design a complex system, process, biomedical device, product or material to meet specific requirements under realistic constraints and conditions; ability to apply modern design methods for this purpose.
  • Ability to develop, select and use modern techniques and tools necessary for the analysis and solution of complex problems encountered in biomedical engineering applications; Ability to use information technologies effectively.
  • Ability to design and conduct experiments, collect data, analyze and interpret results for the investigation of complex Biomedical Engineering problems, ability to make measurements on living systems and interpret the data to be collected from these measurements; the ability to solve problems related to the interaction between materials and living systems.
  • Having the ability to work individually and to work effectively in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Turkish orally and in writing; knowledge of at least one foreign language; ability to write effective reports and understand written reports, to prepare design and production reports, to make effective presentations, to give and receive clear and understandable instructions.
  • The ability to become aware of the necessity of lifelong learning, to access information, to follow the developments in science and technology and to constantly renew oneself.
  • Behaving in accordance with ethical principles, awareness of professional and ethical responsibility; knowledge of standards used in engineering practice.
  • Knowledge of business practices such as project management, risk management and change management; awareness of entrepreneurship, innovation; information about sustainable development.
