COURSE DEFINITIONThe purpose of this course is developing ability in evaluating research reports and planning a research proposal as well as comprehension of basic concepts in quantitative research methods
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week The nature of research. The ways to reach information, types of research and general research methods.
2nd Week The purpose of research questions and properties of a defensible research question.
3rd Week Types of variables, the meaning of hypothesis.
4th Week Ethics in research. Principles of ethics.
5th Week Methods of literature review.
6th Week Methods of sampling. External validity of research.
7th Week Types of tests used in research. Cognitive versus affective tests.
8th Week Use of statistics in research. Descriptive versus inferential statistics.
9th Week Reliability and validity of the test scores.
10th Week Factors affecting internal validity of a research.
11th Week The data analyses and reporting the results of quantitative analyses.
12th Week Experimental research studies.
13th Week Correlational and causal comparative research studies
14th Week Survey research
