LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) to develop the skills in practicing the statistics techniques that are often used in causal, comparative, correlational and empirical patterns for the Social Sciences Studies by using SPSS; interpreting the results and reporting.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe subjects of the course are as in the followings: Quantitative research patterns and data ananysis; basic terms; the introduction of SPSS program; descriptive statistics; hypothesis testing; T-test and variation analysis; correlation techniques; simple and multi-regression analysis; validity and reliability analysis; non-parametric analysis (qui-square test, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test)

1st Week Basic terms, research pattern and choosing appropriate statistics
2nd Week Introduction to SPSS
3rd Week Descriptive Statistics and qui-square test
4th Week T-Test and ANOVA for inter-group patterns
5th Week T-Test and ANOVA for inter-group patterns
6th Week T-Test for inter-group T-test; single factoral ANOVA
7th Week ANOVA for complicated patterns
8th Week Mid-term Exam
9th Week Correlation and multi-linear regression analysis
10th Week Correlation and multi-linear regression analysis
11th Week Statistics used in scale development
12th Week Statistics used in scale development
13th Week Non-parametric statistics
