COURSE CONTENTS	WEEK TOPICS 1st Week Tonality and centricity, the diatonic collection, the octatonic collection, the whole-tone collection 2nd Week Stravinsky, Oedipus Rex, rehearsal nos. 167-70 3rd Week Collectional ineraction, interval cycles, inversional axis 4th Week Stravinsky, Oedipus Rex, rehearsal nos. 167-70 5th Week Bartok, Sonata, I 6th Week Twelve-tone series. Basic operations. Subset structure. Invariants. 7th Week Schoenberg, Suite for Piano, Op. 25, Gavotte 8th Week Stravinsky, In Memoriam Dylan Thomas 9th Week Webern and derivation. 10th Week Webern, String Quartet, Op. 28, I 11th Week Schoenberg and hexachordal combinatoriality 12th Week Schoenberg, Piano Piece, Op. 33a 13th Week Stravinsky and rotational arrays. Crawford and her "triple passacaglia" 14th Week Boulez and multiplication. Babbit and trichordal arrays.
