1) Develop a perspective on the political, legal, cultural, and economic dimensions of international migration.
2) Dicuss the role migration plays in foreign policy.
3) Develop a perspective on the issue of migrants.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe migration phenomenon which has been increasingly controversial with the contemporary developments will be discussed in this course. The political, legal, economic, social and cultural dimensions of migration and the theoretical approaches will be studied, the development of this phenomenon over time, the contemporary problems, global opportunities and developments will be focused and national, bilateral and multilateral mechanisms regarding the management of migration will be analyzed. In the course, the increasing effect of migration phenomenon on the foreign policy decision-making processes, the changing nature of state's roles and authorities together with the emergence of trans-border political, social, economic and cultural areas and the consequences of increasing global mobility will be discussed. In addition, the measures taken and studies conducted through bilateral relations, international organizations and legal instruments to ensure non-discrimination and inclusion and equal rights for the migrants will be analyzed.
