COURSE DEFINITION
Technologies and applications of visual information systems, such as image/video search engines, video navigation interfaces, mobile video delivery, and digital rights management systems for multimedia. Survey algorithms, theories, and tools developed in research and market for video coding, indexing, summarization, copyright protection, and digital rights management. Knowledge and hands-on experience about popular multimedia standards, such as MPEG-2, MPEG-7, and DVD.
