LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Understand the basic concept of radio frequency systems architecture.
2) Have detailed understanding of radio frequency communication systems standards.
3) Ability to design various transceiver systems.
4) Ability to design heterodyne and direct conversion receivers.
5) Ability to design integer-N phase locked loop (PLL) synthesizers.
6) Ability to design fractional-N PLL synthesizers.

3rd Week Basic design parameters of radio frequency systems
4th Week Nonlinear effects and distortion in radio frequency systems
5th Week Basic radio frequency design blocks
6th Week Low noise amplifiers
7th Week Mixers, Filters, RF switches and antennas
8th Week Voltage-controlled oscillators and frequency synthesizers
9th Week Power amplifiers and phase shifters
10th Week Noise and nonlinear properties in cascaded systems
11th Week Heterodyne and direct conversion transceivers
12th Week Receiver sensitivity and dynamic range
13th Week Integer-N phase locked loop (PLL) synthesizers
