At the end of this course, the students; 1) evaluate various view points by examining and using newspapers, journals and academic writings 2) use critical thinking skills such as combining information, solving problems and reacting as a result of evaluation 3) examine and read various paragraphs such as explanatory, descriptive and narrative paragraphs

COURSE DEFINITION
This course aims to focuses on pre-service teachers' skills to compare and contrast, generate and develop ideas, and to explain in order to improve their critical reading and writing skills. Moreover, it aims to teach the basis of effective writing, different essay types, mechanics of written language, language use and style as well as skills for citation.
