At the end of this course, the students; 1) discuss the use of English as a lingua franca and the different varieties of English in the world 2) define the reflections of English as an international language in English language teaching and teacher education 3) discuss the role of culture in language teaching 4) evaluate the cultural elements by analyzing materials such as course-books, literary texts, movies, TV programs and advertisements
