COURSE DEFINITIONThis course aims to examine trans-formation of art in belonged geographical area in terms of social, cultural and historical aspects from Paleolithic era to the end of the 15th century. In this context, beginning with the early cultures in Anatolia, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman eras are discussed.

3rd Week Bronz Age Art and Culture; Egyptian, Hittite, Mycenaean Art
4th Week Anatolian Bronz Age Art and Culture : Troia, Hattusa/Boğazköy,Acemhöyük
5th Week Iron Age in Anatolia Art and Culture : Phrygians; Gordion
6th Week Greek Colonization and Spread of Greek Culture

8th Week Roman Art and Culture
9th Week Roman Period in Anatolia schools of art and philosophy; Pergamon, Ephesus, Aphrodisias
