LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Will acquire the skill of writing art criticism,
2) Will be aware of current information, developments and discussions on visual art and culture,
3) Will be able to explain curator types and working methods,
4) Will be able to evaluate contemporary approaches and application forms on curation,
5) Gain skills such as data collection, literature review and analysis on Contemporary Art, and will be able to make evaluations and classifications on the productions of artists,
6) Will be able to set up and manage an exhibition.

COURSE DEFINITIONThe aim of the course is to equip students who are interested in museum and art gallery management, curatorship, exhibition management, festival/biennale management, art writing and/or art criticism, at the beginner level, which will enable them to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.

2nd Week Informing about the concepts of curation and curator. Informing about the field where the curator works and the formations he cooperates with
3rd Week Curatorial discussions within contemporary art and museology
4th Week Museum studies and curatorial practice examples: The Case of British
5th Week Museum studies and curatorial application examples: The Case of France
6th Week Museum studies and curatorial application examples: The Case of Germany
7th Week Museum studies and curatorial application examples: The Case of Turkey
8th Week Current approaches and application forms on curation in Turkey
9th Week An international exhibition analysis and a look at curatorial application examples
10th Week Critical analysis essays specific to the artist selected from an international exhibition
11th Week A national exhibition analysis and a look at curatorial application examples
12th Week Critical analysis essays specific to the artist selected from a national exhibition
13th Week Discussion on suggestions for creating an exhibition and possible realization methods
14th Week Criticism of curatorial and curatorial research in terms of museology and contemporary art
