COURSE DEFINITIONToday's world presents a structure in which many different sociological layers live in contact and interact. This structure has inevitably brought visual communication and visual communication tools one step ahead of others, due to the easier establishment of a common language, and the societies we live in are now mostly vision-oriented. Since this importance given to the act of seeing also reinforces the attention directed to visual perception and perception processes in a more general sense; As a part of our communication processes, where we share our feelings, thoughts, experiences and knowledge, perception management has become indispensable both at the individual level and at the institutions. Because the message we want to convey can easily be lost between the bombardment of visual messages or be misunderstood. To prevent this danger and to shape the perception in the desired direction is only possible by having knowledge about perception and selectivity in visual communication. The aim of the course is; students' recognition of the concepts of perception and selective perception in the context of visual communication, and to develop ideas on how the effect is created and transformed in visual communication through perception management.
