COURSE DEFINITION
In this course, the connection of Frankfurt School and Psychoanalysis and its view on theoretical and aesthetic applications are analyzed. Large-scale, "philosophical, aesthetic, psychoanalytic and Marxist" debates, which started in parallel with the ideas of the Frankfurt School (Hokheimer, Adorno, Fromm, Marcuse, Benjamin), of the particular character of social life and the design products reproduced by the capitalist social structure in connection with the "mass, authority, obedience, libido, sexuality and aggression" impulses of psychoanalysis are specifically examined in the context of visual arts.
