COURSE DEFINITION
The aim of the course is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills on how to produce and process a photograph with digital methods and make it ready for presentation in digital environments in interactive ways.
As it is known, in the digital age we live in, the dynamics of photograph and photography have changed, just like everything else. In today's technology and pace, although digital photography is perceived as a job consisting of just pressing the shutter button, it is still a challenging process that requires intense knowledge. It is necessary to be aware of the secrets and limitations of digital in order to accompany time by taking photographs with high aesthetic value, creative and witnessing quality.
Approaches such as digital modernism, hypertextuality that emerged with digital technologies have also been decisive on the aesthetic perception in photography. In this course, where contemporary photographic aesthetics and the possibilities of technological innovations will be discussed, ?beautiful? will be redefined and designed.
Students will be able to experience editing and using digital photography as a communication tool with photography projects they will develop around a certain theme during the semester.

Introducing the software and technical possibilities used in digital photography. Introduction to Photoshop. Examining the menus, filters and possibilities of the program

Information about processes such as shading, coloring, cleaning and combining in digital photography. Photoshop and manipulation discussion

Theme selection and determination of student projects. Project drafting: answering questions such as what to shoot, how to shoot, how to manipulate

Discussion on the relationship between manipulation and montage and creativity, meaning and theory in photography
