1) Recognizes communication theories and theorists,
2) Knows the basic approaches and discussions in the field of communication and media,
3) Discuss and analyze different theoretical approaches and their effects on the communication process,
4) Interpret related social facts and events in the context of communication and media theories.

COURSE DEFINITIONCommunication and Media Theories course deals with theories developed in the field of communication and media studies in relation to general social theory. In this direction, within the scope of the course, while the basic concepts and claims of the evaluated theories are revealed, it is aimed to convey the historical, cultural and intellectual context in which these theories are produced. Thus, it will be possible to develop a holistic view of the possibilities and limitations of the approaches, theories and models developed in the field of communication and media studies.
