LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT	At the end of this course, the students; 1) Know the general rules and approaches related to thesis writing, 2) Evaluate the subject with a critical approach, 3) Criticize published research reports and articles within the framework of thesis writing rules, 4) Develop and use skills such as critical reading, understanding, interpretation and comparison throughout the process, 5) Can scan and quote sources without plagiarism, 6) Learns and applies ethical and formal principles related to academic writing rules.

COURSE DEFINITION	The aim of the course is to carry out the stages of preparing a thesis on a topic to be selected in the fields of media, design and/or visual studies. It is aimed to teach how to perform the steps such as planning of this process, literature review and method selection, analysis and synthesis of findings, and report writing stages in order and correctly.
COURSE CONTENTS	WEEK TOPICS 1st Week Meeting and general information about course content/operation 2nd Week Selection of research topic for the thesis 3rd Week Literature review on the subject, determination of the strengths and weaknesses of previous studies and limitation of the subject 4th Week Preparation of the thesis proposal by determining the aim, importance, method and limitations of the thesis topic. 5th Week Discussion and criticism on the proposal 6th Week Thesis writing process and readings 7th Week Thesis writing process and readings 8th Week Thesis writing process and readings 9th Week Thesis writing process and readings 10th Week Thesis writing process and readings 11th Week Thesis writing process and readings 12th Week Thesis writing process and readings 13th Week Final check and critiques about the theoretical part of the thesis 14th Week Presentation of the theoretical part of the thesis
