LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Comprehension competence of basic art and design knowledge theoritically and practically.
2) Adoption competence of basic art and design knowledge to the learned
3) Competence on transfering the form to the second dimension and the two-dimensional shape to the third dimension
4) Ability of consideration on second and third dimension
5) Competence on visual understanding
6) Ability to express what they see with lines
7) Ability to turn a designed product into a drawn document
8) Competence of communication and effective usage of Turkish
9) Ability to work within a certain concept and its limitations

COURSE DEFINITIONThis course provides students to understand different design stages and develop skills to convey on their thoughts. This introduces drawing terms and methods in order to present basic geometrical knowledge and 3D objects in 2D media by the help of different applications.

1st Week Discussion on course program General information about rendering tools. Practicing& Homework: Writing & Drawing
2nd Week Practicing : 2D drawing techniques /freehand drawings, technical drawings & hatching Homework: Freehand drawings & technical rendering and hatching
3rd Week Practicing: 2D drawing techniques / technical drawings with compasses Homework: Technical drawings with compasses
4th Week Practicing: Mystery of geometric shapes Uniform pentagon, hexagon and octagon drawings Homework: Uniform pentagon, hexagon and octagon drawing Practicing: Parallel projection methods, 3rd dimension expression studies; 3D drawing techniques / plan, section and elevation drawings of geometrical elements Homework: Plan, section and elevation drawings of geometrical elements
5th Week Practicing: Composition and dimensioning studies with geometric elements; plan, section and elevation drawings and dimensioning of geometrical elements Homework: Plan,section and elevation drawings and dimensioning of geometrical elements
6th Week Explanation of Axonometric/Isometric drawing
7th Week Practicing: axonometric drawing. Homework; axonometric drawing
8th Week Mid -Term Drawing
