LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT |
At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will be able to define money supply and evaluate its function in the economy 2) Will be able to construct the relation between money supply and the bank reserves after analysing the balance sheet of the banks and after learning the workings of the money multiplier 3) Will be able to understand in what ways the monetary control is made after analysing the balance sheet of the central bank 4) Will be able to evaluate the effect of the money supply on the economic activities after learning the theories of the demand for money and after using the disipline provided by different approaches. 5) Will be able to learn how the monetary policy is formulated after analysing the targets(strategies) and the instruments of monetary policy 6) Will be able to know about the practice of monetary policy in different countries 7) Will be able to make monetary analysis by studying money as a market phenomenon

COURSE DEFINITION | The nature and history of money, the role of the depository and credit institutions on creating money, the control of the money supply by the central banks, the theories of the demand for money and how money affects the economy are the main issues to be studied in the course. |
