At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will be abletoexplain the historicaldevelopment of infectiousdiseasesand define epidemiologicalconcepts. 2) Will able to explain the body's defenses against infectious diseases. 3) Will be able to explain the general characteristics of infectious diseases. 4) Will students be able to explain the air and vector, contact with the water and nutrients and properties of zoonoses transmitted diseases and nursing care.

COURSE DEFINITION
This course provides the knowledge of principles related to infectious diseases, the prevention methods of the disease, early diagnosis, treatment and nursing care.
COURSE CONTENTS

Introduction and explanation of the program and history of infectious diseases.
2nd Week
Biological weapons.
3rd Week
Epidemiology studies and surveillance of communicable diseases.
4th Week
Features of infectious diseases, the body's defenses against infectious diseases.
5th Week
The characteristics of air-bornediseases, prevention and nursing care (Tuberculosis, influenza, meningitis, flu, SARS, pneumonia, rubella, chickenpox, etc.).
6th Week
The characteristics of water and food borne diseases, prevention and nursing care (Cholera, salmonella, brucella, typhoid, dysentery, birdflu, mad cow; etc.).
7th Week
MID-TERM EXAMINATION
8th Week
The characteristics of transmitted diseases, prevention and nursing care (Louise, scabies, hepatitis, AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhea, etc.).
9th Week
The characteristics of vector-bornediseases, prevention and nursing care (Dengueandchikungunyafever, westnilefever, Crimean-Congohemorrhagicfever, chantingvirus, malaria, leishmaniasis, typhoid, etc.).
10th Week
The characteristics of zoonoses transmitted diseases, prevention and nursing care (Rabies, glanders, toxoplasmosis, tularemia, plague, renal syndromevirus in pills, anthrax, yellowfever).
