At the end of this course, the students; 1) Will be able to define cancer, carcinogenesis and risk factors. 2) Will be able to understand cancer treatment modalities, mechanism of action and their side effects. 3) Will be able to asses and manage common symptoms. 4) Will be able to identify the needs of cancer patient and their family. 5) Will be able to discuss roles and responsibilities of cancer nursing.

COURSE DEFINITION
History of oncology nursing,preventive,caring,educational and cunseling roles of oncology of cancer,risk factors,carcinogenesis,prevention,screening,early diagnosis,classification and staging of cancer,treatment methods,caring of cancer patients and their families,symptom management,teaching,self-care,quality of life,palliative care,alternative therapies,home and hospice care are the content of this course.
