LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Recognize basic components of image, aesthetic elemnts of cinema and television; learn their functions.
2) Learn the importance of image in cinema and television, how to edit and compose an image.
3) Gain practice/experience of image-editing.

COURSE DEFINITIONCinema and television govern the aesthetic principles of fine arts. Teaching subjective focuses on lihgt, color, shape, line, composition, rıtm, tone, in order to understand and analyze aesthetic notion in cinema and television.This course focuses on film production and film directing in relation to use of camera, character placements and settings; alternative methods in film production are also analysed and used.
COURSE CONTENTS
WEEKTOPICS
1st Week Art,artist,piece of art, concept of beauty.Concept of aesthetic and relating it with visual arts.
2nd Week Visual and auditıry perception.Importance of the way display and audio is created.
3rd Week The use and importance of visiual elements in display.Relation of image-reality between cinema,television and photograph.Objectiveness and the comment on object: Using creatitvity of camera and audio
4th Week Functions of the image in tehe cinema and television. Picture composition: Description and aims.
5th Week Visualization and picturization.Movement in the process of display.
6th Week Frame,framing,effective elements of framing,the technique of framing.
7th Week Midterm
8th Week Scene unision:position,view and unision of movement and the rule of scene line, Concentrating the visual attention to a certain spot and shifting the audience to the center of attraction.
9th Week Usage of "triangle theory" at positioning of cameras and basic usages of triangle theory.
10th Week Basic trunk and camera positioning at picture composition of scenes with dialogue.
11th Week Visual balance.Functions of camera as a communication instrument.
12th Week Visual photographic elements at picture composition (form, line, texture, tone, colour, etc.)
13th Week The two structural areas of visual aesthetic:Image and audio.
14th Week Audio,basic elements of audio and function of audio,relation between image and audio as an aesthetic energy.
