At the end of this course, the students; 1) Learn to evaluate the film in its historical-cultural context. 2) Comprehend a film (or movement) by considering its predecessor and sequent (the factors that led to the emergence of the film and the effect of the film on the history of cinema). 3) Gain the ability to associate cinema with world history, movements of thought and individual life.

COURSE DEFINITION
The History of Cinema course is designed for students who want to have a solid background in the field of cinema and who want to associate films with both the period in which they were produced and other theoretical fields. In this context, attention will be drawn to the connection between the movements in the history of cinema, which will be covered in the course. In order to fully understand the periods and movements, sample films about each movement conferred in the course will be shown and discussed. The knowledge they will have after taking the course will also form the basis for the World Cinema History course, which is designed for those who want to deepen their knowledge of cinema.
