LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Learn by comprehending some of the important hilosophical and literary texts of the history of thought.
2) Gain the ability to relate the written and visual texts discussed in the course both with each other and with the events of the era.
3) In this way, the students creative and questioning thinking skill develop, and they can produce deeper texts.

COURSE DEFINITIONIn the Audio Visual Narration course, important literary and philosophical texts of the history of thought will be studied first. Then these texts will be discussed in relation to some films as visual texts. Thus, it is aimed that the student can reach a more creative understanding and produce more qualified texts.

4th Week Erich Fromm: Discussion about Escape from Freedom.
5th Week Film Screening & Discussion
6th Week Voltaire's Candide.
7th Week Film Screening & Discussion: Being There (H. Ashby, 1979).
8th Week Midterm
9th Week Rousseau's Discourse of Inequality.
10th Week Nietzsche's Twilight of the Idols.
11th Week Film Screening & Discussion: (Dersu Uzala, A. Kurosawa, 1975).
12th Week Discussion about some poarts of H. Mellville's Moby Dick.
13th Week Film Screening & Discussion: Moby Dick (J. Huston, 1956).
14th Week General Look & Evaluation.
