At the end of this course, the students; 1) Can identify critically ill patients admitted to medical and surgical ICU 2) Can participate management of patients with shock, fluid resuscitation, electrolyte replacements, organ failure and cardiopulmonary resuscitation 3) Can provide basic management of critically ill patients with medical emergencies

COURSE DEFINITION | The core mission of General Critical Care-Phase VI includes the education of interns in all aspects of understanding and management of medical and surgical critically ill patients and medical emergencies. For this reason, the program primarily offers theoretical bases and chance to observe and carry out required skills on topics such as shock, fluid resuscitation, electrolyte replacements, organ failure, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. During this internship all educational activities are performed directly by or under the supervision of faculties. Anesthesiology residents also actively participate, particularly in teaching the clinical skills aspect of this educational process. |
COURSE CONTENTS | The aim of the course is to explain fundamental principles and provide basic management of intensive care unit patients and medical emergencies.
