LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Should be able to follow the healthy child in terms of growth-development, vaccination and nutrition in child health diseases.
2) It should be able to know prevention methods from childhood diseases and also diagnosis and treatment of common childhood diseases.

COURSE DEFINITIONThis program focuses on the principles of protecting child health and treating child health diseases. It is aimed to teach nutrition, vaccination, growth and development monitoring, which play an important role in the protection of child health. Clinical examination and follow-up of pediatric patients, various signs and symptoms in pediatrics and change of signs according to age will be reviewed. The basic subjects of the Department of Child Health and Diseases will be explained in the form of theoretical lessons, but the training will be mainly done with patient scenario analysis and bedside applications.

1.1st week; History taking in pediatrics, Anemia, Electrocardiography, Recurrent Fever Syndromes, Arrhythmia, Pneumonia, Immunization.
2.2nd week; Congenital Heart Disease, Hepatitis, Cystic Fibrosis, Hypertension, Rickets, Immunodeficiency.
3.3rd week; Head and Neck, Genitourinary System Examination, Newborn Examination, Growth-Development Examination.
4.4th week; Cardiac Examination, Adolescent Examination, Neurological Examination.
5.5th week; Diabetes Mellitus in Childhood, Respiratory System Examination, Epilepsy.
6.6th week; Arthritis, Abdominal Trauma, Intestinal Obstruction in Newborn, Cough, Shock, Enuresis.
7.7th week; Foreign Body Aspiration, Metabolic Screening Tests, Fluid and Electrolyte Disorders, Thoracic Trauma.
8.8th week; Hypertension, Invagination, Upper Respiratory Tract Infection, Neglect-Abuse, Abdominal Pain, Asthma, Hematuria.
9.9th week; Poisoning, Cardiac Evaluation of Problems, Neonatal Problems.
10.10th week; Hypoglycemia, Heel Blood Collection, Edema, Urine Analysis. 11th week; Wheezing, Pituitary Disorders
