LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Explain the normal hematopoiesis and normal coagulation processes, recognize the common hematological diseases of childhood and adults, and manage their diagnosis and treatments on given sample cases
2) Describe the components, structure and basic properties of the immune system, and recognize common immunological disorders, and describe their diagnosis and treatments through given sample patients
3) List the epidemiological and clinical features of common pediatric and adult solid organ tumors
4) Recognize common metabolic disorders and systemic diseases with multi-system involvement and describe their diagnosis and treatment algorithms on sample patients scenarios provided
5) Recognize situations that require emergency treatment such as heat stroke, poisoning, frostbite, burns and accidents, and explain their general treatment principles on sample cases given
6) Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest and demonstrate/execute basic life support on a manikin, and list advanced life support components and steps
7) Recognize the important macroscopic and microscopic features of bone marrow, thymus, spleen and lymph node pathologies on the images given to them, and explain the basic development mechanisms of the related diseases
8) Explain the basic pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of immunomodulatory and immunosuppressive drugs and cancer treatment agents
9) Recognize the important imaging findings of oncological and hematological diseases on the visuals provided to them and explain the reasons why and which imaging methods are requested for their diagnostic purposes
MODE OF DELIVERYFace to face
