At the end of this course, the students; 1) Recognize common gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary system diseases in adult and pediatric patients, and describe their diagnosis and treatments on sample cases given 2) Recognize common and important endocrinological and metabolic disorders in adult and pediatric patients, and manage their diagnosis and therapy on sample cases provided to them 3) Recognize the gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and endocrinological diseases that require surgical treatment in adult and pediatric patients with their clinical and laboratory features, and describe the urgent precautions to be taken in these cases on sample patient scenarios 4) Recognize the important macroscopic and microscopic pathological findings of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and endocrinological diseases on the visuals given to them, and explain the basic development mechanisms of the same diseases 5) Explain the basic pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of pharmacological agents used in the treatment of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and endocrine system diseases 6) Recognize the important imaging findings of the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary system and endocrine organs on the visuals and explain the reasons why the relevant imaging methods are requested for diagnostic purposes

COURSE DEFINITION
The course which aims to convey basic clinical (especially semiology), pathological and pharmacological information regarding the medical and surgical problems of the gastrointestinal and the endocrine systems (together with metabolism) to the Physician candidate who has acquired basic morphological, physiological, molecular and microbiological knowledge in the preclinical years.
COURSE CONTENTS
Gastroenterological, endocrinological and metabolism problems of the childhood and the adult age group and essential pathology and pharmacology related to these problems.
