At the end of this course, the students; 1) 1. To be able to name and describe the structure and function of each formed element in blood 2) To be able to name hematopoietic stem cells and describe the formation of blood cells in the bone marrow. 3) To be able to describe the sequence of events of clot formation, including the roles of the platelets and various plasma proteins 4) To be able to identify the formed elements in blood smear 5) To be able to tell the functions of the lymphoid system at cell, tissue and organ levels 6) To be able to distinguish between cell-mediated and humoral immunity 7) To be able to describe lymphocyte differentiation, activation, hypersensitivity reactions 8) To be able to locate lymphatic vessels in the body 9) To be able to explain the genetic mechanisms related to immune system
