At the end of this course, the students; 1) They learn the basics of the world economic system. 2) They learn the basics of the world trade system. 3) They master the institutional structure that directs international trade. 4) They know within which borders the commercial and economic decisions of the states are taken. 5) Comprehend the working style of international organizations. 6) They have a command of the current debates in world trade.

COURSE DEFINITION
The role of International Commercial and Economic Organizations in the world trading system, main causes for establishing these organizations (globalization, regionalization etc.), the objectives, operations and historical development of the Bretton Woods System and organizations conducting mutual interdependence (IMF, World Bank, GATT/WTO etc.) as well as the Regional and International Commercial Agreements (EU, NAFTA, ASEAN etc.) will be covered.
