At the end of this course, the students; 1) Identify the properties of wireless networks. 2) Learn the multimedia network applications. 3) Know the basic components of network security. 4) Learn the error detection and correction methods. 5) Learn the network management. 6) Learn the criteria for assessment of the network. 7) Look for solutions to the problems which occur in the network.

COURSE DEFINITION | This course introduces basic concepts of information and network security. Basic encryption and message confidentiality. Public key cryptography and message authentication. Authentication applications. E-mail security and access control. TCP and IP security. Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and application security. Firewalls, IDS and virus protection systems. |
