LEARNING OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE UNIT At the end of this course, the students;
1) Recognizes antenna types and evaluates their properties.
2) It evaluates antenna parameters such as directivity, gain, input impedance, radiation efficiency and polarization.
3) Express the role of antennas in communication systems.
4) Express and discuss different diffusion mechanisms.
5) Analyzes and designs various types of antennas and evaluates their properties.
6) Depending on the application, it decides the antenna type and the characteristics of the antenna.

COURSE DEFINITIONGives antenna engineering concepts. Basic antenna parameters and antenna types, vector potentials and propagation integral, wire and loop antennas, analysis and synthesis of linear, planar and circular array antennas, antenna measurements and propagation of radio waves.

2nd Week 2. Hafta Basic antenna parameters (spread pattern, power density, directivity and gain)
3rd Week 3. Hafta Basic antenna parameters (antenna effectiveness, polarization and input impedance)
4th Week 4. Hafta Friis and radar equations
5th Week 5. Hafta Radiation integral
6th Week 6. Hafta Electrically small antennas
7th Week 7. Hafta Small dipole and loop antenna
8th Week 8. Hafta MIDTERM
9th Week 9. Hafta Certain length dipoles and monopole
10th Week 10. Hafta Antennas on the ground plane
11th Week 11. Hafta Array antenna theory
12th Week 12. Hafta Linear array antennas, Planar and circular array antennas
13th Week 13. Hafta Classification of radio waves and basic modes of propagation
