At the end of this course, the students; 1) Understand the role of nanotechnology approaches in delivery of therapeutic agents. 2) Learn nanotechnology based molecular imaging techniques. 3) Gain knowledge about biosensing and diagnosis techniques. 4) Learn the role of nanotechnology approaches in tissue engineering. 5) Gain knowledge about application of nanoparticles in clinic.

COURSE DEFINITION | The course will focus on the impact that nanotechnology has in the advance of medicine and healthcare including its role in delivery of therapeutic agents, tissue engineering and biosensing/diagnosis techniques. In this course, nanotechnology approaches from in vitro and in vivo diagnostics to in vivo multimodal diagnostic, therapeutic and theranostic applications are discussed. Advanced nanotherapeutic approaches, such as DNA nanostructure carriers, nanovaccines and gene nanotherapy are also discussed. Students are required to discuss recent research articles in the area. |
