At the end of this course, the students; 1) Understand advantages/limitations and assess the most suitable ground improvement solution for a project, 2) Design preloading with or without vertical drains, 3) Design dynamic compaction ground improvement solution, 4) Design vibro-compaction system, 5) Design stone columns, 6) Design geosynthetic reinforced walls and slopes, 7) Design soil nailing, 8) Design retaining walls.
