At the end of this course, the students; 1) will be able to define recycling and recovery applications and their current uses, 2) all kinds of waste materials used in textile and non-textile, used clothes, accessories, etc. will be able to reveal the possibilities of recycling and gains with creative textile design applications, 3) will be able to describe the techniques applied by artists/designers who exhibit recycling, recycling and slow fashion approaches in textile design, 4) will be able to make experimental, creative and new perspective-developing experiments by evaluating found and waste materials in workshop conditions, 5) will be able to use different environmentalist new materials and production methods in the recycling process with a holistic approach, 6) recycling, natural paint, etc., which are put forward as an alternative for the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable designs. will be able to make creative art/design works by combining ecological production techniques such as eco-friendly materials and techniques with new environmentally friendly materials and techniques, and question the function of textile design within the framework of social responsibility, 7) will be able to examine the economic, social and cultural dimensions of the consumption-based fashion approach.

COURSE DEFINITION
In this course; The concept of sustainability, when, where and for what purpose this concept emerged, the dimensions of sustainability and the three-circle model, the meetings, congresses, protocols and agreements held in the world on sustainability, laws and government policies, areas where sustainability can be applied, practices with sustainability philosophy approach and sustainability approach Information will be given about the concepts (slow fashion, eco fashion, green fashion, ecological fashion, ethical fashion, Fair Trade), ?better cotton?, Footprint Concept. For the future of the world and the next generations The necessity of sustainability and the roles of states, society, industries and individuals will be emphasized and sustainable design approaches in the fashion industry will be discussed.

Giving information about the general processing, scope, applications and projects of the course and making a general introduction. What is the concept of sustainability? When, where and for what purpose did it emerge. Is sustainability a necessity, what is the importance of sustainability for the future of the world?

Dimensions of sustainability, three circle model. Meetings, congresses, protocols and agreements, laws and government policies on sustainability in the world.
3rd Week
The damages caused by the Fashion Industry to the World in all aspects of sustainability: Environmental damages. Sociological damages. Economic damages.
4th Week
Concepts that emerged with the sustainability approach: Slow concept (slow fashion, slow city, slow food)
The necessity of sustainability for the future of the world and future generations. The role of the state, society, industries and individuals. The necessity of sustainable practices in individual life. Future scenarios. A sense of responsibility towards future generations. Is a sustainable life possible? What can we do. sustainable practices. How can we make an individual contribution?
7th Week

Researching the concepts of environmental friendliness, sustainability, green design. Researching recycling and recovery applications and their current uses

Researching waste clothes and materials that are thought to have reached the end of their useful life, and investigating their recycling and recovery possibilities in the creative textile design process.
